With over a decade of experience in the PK-16 space, R.A.D. brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in program development, tailored student support services for BIPOC populations, dual language curriculum development and implementation, support for justice-system-impacted, first-generation, low-income, and marginalized student communities.
R.A.D.’s CEO and Founder, Alejandro Arellano, comes from humble beginnings as the son of immigrant parents from Jalisco, Mexico. He was an English Language Development (ELD) program participant early in his educational journey, eventually testing out in the fifth grade. Throughout his youth, Alejandro experienced poverty, gang violence, police brutality, and racial profiling—formative experiences that shaped his perspective. After becoming college-educated, he developed the social justice lens he now applies to address inequities in the public education system.
Alejandro holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Human Development from CSU San Marcos, a master’s degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Development from San Diego State University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Information Studies at UCLA. Upon completing his doctoral studies, he hopes to continue lecturing at the CSU or UC level as adjunct faculty while furthering his edupreneurial journey with R.A.D. Coaching and Consulting.
